When will laptops with 8 GB ram come out?

That's a good question.  Probably when 64 bit Operating Systems are the norm.  Right now, if you are running 32 bit Windows XP or Vista, the most it will recognize is 4 gigs.   Since 64 bit systems still have problems with 32 bit programs, we are going to be stuck with only 4 gigs on our laptops for a little while longer.

The Sager 9262 already has that as an option.  Though with the 1gb sli 9800gt's and the normal system processes your only going to get about 6.8 gigs of the RAM usable.

More likely than not the introduction of the Nehelem chipset should push the Laptop RAM celiing into the 12gb range assuming 4gb modules of DDR3 become readily available for a decent price
