When will manufacturers make features the people want?

Question

500 auto focus points, 16 levels of this, 84 levels of that, dancing seals in candle light mode......

really who needs those things?

so how about portrait modes -

like young man mode - every shot comes out looking like Johnathan Depp or Justin Trousersnake - depending on hair colour

older man mode - all shots come out looking like chuck norris or david hasslehoff - depending on hair colour

will manufacturers ever listen to the consumer or will they just add 400 more auto exposure points?

I actually read a review on the D3 or D300 where they said that "all those 51 autofocus points" are helpful with complex subjects where there are objects of interest both near and far from the camera.  What the heck???  You mean the camera can focus on something both near and far just because ti has 51 focus points to choose from?  I guess I need more practice.  Silly me.  I still use one focus point at the time, unless I'm trying to track something moving through the frame.  Even then, I thought I was still only using one focus point, even though it might be dynamic.

Steve, I love the "FW" mode.  I assume that this would only be available on really top level pro equipment like Nikon's or Canon's made with a polycarbonate body and frame.

Manufacturers do provide what people are willing to pay for.  If you want them to change what they offer you need to offer them feedback by going to their web sites and commenting in their forums or use the contact us link.  If enough people want change, then they will listen.

Probably the most important missing feature, based on the number of times this is requested on Yahoo Answers:

The go back in time mode to take the higher resolution photo it should have been taken in so that it can be blown up poster size without making big, fat pixels mode.

And, maybe the next most important missing feature:  The delete the fact that someone else's image is copyrighted so that I can put it on tee shirts and sell them mode.

i personally need Concert Mode without the flash highlighting people standing in front of you Mode.

Oh, don't forget the camera needs to also play music!  For some reason, I've seen people here asking how to do that.  And it should have a feature for doing photoshop in the camera.  And faceplates so you can change the colors of the camera.  And a little mirror on the front so you can see how pretty you look when you're taking a picture of yourself.  Call it the "myspace checker".

manufacturers will not get that done, for they really don't care what we actually want, they are only interested in what we will buy and what we well put up with. and if that little balloon pops up again telling me i've mispelled something or have too much punctuation and it has, i shall don my foil hat and glower in the corner for the rest of the evening.  which i shall do because it hasn't gone away

It will have to have the FW mode... First Wedding.

Of course SC... Selective Color.

PFNMHISTC mode... Perfect Focus No Matter How I Shake The Camera

MP... Mirror Professional mode so photos can be taken in a mirror with flash and look professional

PA mode.... Pretty Arm mode so all arms will look good while holding the camera out to take a self photo.

FS mode... Fish Lips mode to automatically enhance your fish lips pose

BR mode... Background Replacement mode that will automatically replace any background with whatever is in your mind at the time you took the photo

P mode.... Professional mode so any photo taken will look "professional"... oops... that is already there... isn't that what the P stands for?
