  1. some dont bloom, it might bloom in a few years, becuase it must be a large size to bloom and than wont be for a few years. if it is still very small and is slow growing it wont bloom for quite some time.

normally they bloom in the spring and in warm or warm tempreate climates will bloom again in the fall

  2. There are many different species of perennial yucca thruout the Southwest. They are or were an important food source at one time. The spring flowers can be eaten raw, but some may taste bitter. Some of the fruit can be eaten raw but taste better when cooked.

The ripe fruits of summer can be peeled and boiled for 10 minutes and served with melted butter. The taste varies depending on which type of yucca you try. The stalks, picked before they flower are starchy and can be cooked like potatos. The roots are delicious. They need to be boiled for 45 minutes.

The roots of some yuccas contain saponins and can be pounded and soaked in water to make soapsuds. This can be used as a shampoo.

The leaves are very fibrous and can be used to make sandals, twine, nets and baskets.

This is a most usefull plant. Congrats on your choice!!
