  1. It depends on the cut-off date in your school district.  Usually, if you turn 5 in June, July or August, the school will let you choose whether to send your child to preschool for another year or send them on to kindergarten.

If your child is very mature and already knows letters and sounds and you think they are ready for Kindergarten, send them.  Otherwise, send them to Preschool next year.

Preschool and Kindergarten are very different.  Preschool introduces a child to a school setting.  It introduces them to a structured schedule, being away from mom, socialization, and to some curriculum that will prepare them for kindergarten.

  2. In Georgia (state) He would not start until after his 5th birthday which would be August 2009. In our state (Georgia) if your child has a birthday in June, July, or August you can hold them back a year and let them start the next year...ie if they are very immature for their age or have other troubles. Preschool is different. It is any school they attend before kindergarten. Some kids start that as early as 2 but 3 and 4 year olds are more likely here. Hope it helps.

  3. In Most states at age 5. However some states have a Pre k

    class.for age 4

  4. You child will be able to start school in September. Kindergarten is the same as preschool but the best for your child is that  you leave him with a kiss and great him with a kiss and the understanding that you will be there for him when he comes home from school. My baby lives in England and I told him how much I care and always will. You are the best person to really decide when your child is ready. God Bless..

  5. In my state, Michigan, they can begin kindergarten at age 4-6 and preschool is 3-5.

  6. In Oklahoma a child must be 5 by September 1 to start Kindergarten.  Your child will be one of the younger ones but that doesn't have to be a bad thing.  I teach Kindergarten and several of my brightest students are also the youngest in the class.  Several schools offer a 4 year old and even 3 year old programs but I believe that the September 1 deadline is the same for all programs.  Children are not required to attend either the 4 or 3 year old program but Kindergarten is mandatory.

  7. Well if your child was born in 2004 that means he is about to be 4. which means he should be in pre-school now but in september he should go to kindergarten because at 4 or 5 is a good age to be in kindergarten. and no kindergarten and pre-school are not the same, they are different because in pre-school you are learning the basics and sleeping lol. and when your in kindergaten you start learning how to read, write, color, etc. hope i helped you!!!!

  8. in august 2009

  9. Depending on what state you live in.

He would start school year 2009-2010. It just depends on the states cut off date. NC as of last year was Oct 16th. It is changing this school year to August.

Check with your local schools.  Hope this was a help. Good Luck

  10. It depends on where you live. Generally, kids start Kindergarten at about 5. In most places your child will not be eligible for Kindergarten until the opening of school in August or September of 2009. Preschool is for kids for the year or two before Kindergarten. Some public schools offer it for kids the year before they are eligible for Kindergarten but generally these are private programs and charge tuition. Call your nearest school for specific information about your area.
