When will my gourami fries start free swimming so i can remove the male?

My dwarf gouramis just hatched this evening. When will i know if they are free swimming so i can remove the male? How will i know if the male is not eating it? Is it okay to put waste control liquid on my fries' tank?

  1. Once the fry have tripled in size you can let them go and they will be fine by themselves.


  2. Your eggs should hatch within a few days and soon after be free swimming.  When they escape from the nest and the male puts them back you can remove the male.

    Make sure you have plants, as they contain microscopic organisms to feed your fry until they are big enough to eat some baby brine shrimp, after one to two weeks usually.
