When will my hens start laying eggs

we bought baby chicks end of april or begin may and still no eggs any ideal how long it takes

For most breeds it is 51/2 to 7 months old before they start laying.

Chickens start laying at about 4-5 months old, although some breeds take a little longer.

it rakes about twenty weeks for a chicken to start laying(which is  5 months)

if u got a chicken espesially bred for laying then it would be about 15 weeks but if not it could be between 18 to 25 weeks

at start the eggs will be small but will; hget bigger as time goes on

Depends on the breed. The smallest breeds such as Egyption Fayoumis can start laying as early as 4 months, the bigger breeds such as Giant Cochins may wait until about 8 months. Average is about 6 months.

There are other factors such as how much sunlight they are getting and what kind of diet they were raised on and are currently on.
