When will my letter arrive from New Zealand to the UK?

Hi, a letter was sent to me on Thurs 10th july ( 11 days ago) from New Zealand to UK. It hasn't arrived yet and I was wondering if anybody out there knows if this is normal and when it should turn up. It was sent by airmail just normal post I think. Thank you,

it should arrival very soon  10 till 12,

That actually sounds too long. It is probably still within the realm of 'reasonable' according to the postal services but when my mother used to send me things in the UK she would send them Monday and they would arrive Thursday or Friday. I lived in London and they were sent from Wellington though. So perhaps it didn't have the extra delivery times to and from rural areas though?

God, it takes an age to send to the UK from here.

Thats pretty normal.  Letters used to take 2-3 weeks to Europe or the US when I was living in New Zealand.  There was the occasional letter that would end up on the slow boat to China and would show up a month - 5 weeks later, and there were ones that clearly went off quite rapidly and would be there in about a week, but 2-3 was average.
