And that you can believe in equal rights for women and equal opportunities, but not necessarily be a feminist?

I personally classify myself as anti-feminist, because I'm a opposed to women's studies, gender studies, second and third wave feminist theory, since I view the majority of the work as pseudo-scientific archaic sociological belief systems, out of place in 21st century western society.

  1. So far I've identified four or five different variations of anti-feminists. There are probably more, though.

  2. I think, All men are....... was responded to with All feminists are.......

In the blue dress, practice what you're preaching darlin'.

enlighten us please Rio  : )

  3. People do realize that, as far as being offended, it is impossible NOT to offend SOMEONE no matter what your POV, goes with the territory. I am pro equality also, in MOST areas. not all; e.g., if I were trapped in a burning building I would prefer a fireMAN to carry me to safety as opposed to a female firefighter because women simply do not possess the upper body strength men do.

I am more pro than anti feminist despite my POV re the disparities in strengths, etc and if I offend people, which I'm sure I do, again, that goes with the territory.

People will always disagree with each other, and that does not mean we have to take offense all the time. We can, as they say, agree to disagree in a civilized manner.

  4. Apart from MRAs it seems to me that anti-feminism is almost entirely individualistic i.e. just many lone voices all saying similar things. Maybe this is how all social movements begin? Who knows, but I think MRAs are cool e.g. Fathers For Justice

These are clearly just a bunch of guys who aren't trying to change the world, just get a bit of fair treatment in family courts issues.

  5. Christians are not a homogeneous group - yet most people are aware that there are many character traits that you are far more likely to find among people of faith than among people with an open mind.

The same is true of both Anti-Feminists and Feminists.

  6. Many only recognize in this question ;P

    People generalize lol.

  7. I recognize that a lot of the people who are anti-feminist on GWS have solid footing to believe the way they do and make mature arguments.

Others are just disgruntled woman-haters or little boys who can't get laid.

    Yes, we know that.

  8. WOW - so nice to read rational thought!!!!

Like you, I believe in equality of rights and opportunities for women (being one), but do not see the need for beating others over the head with comparisons or testimonials.

As for those (from either side) who use this forum as an opportunity to name call or belittle others - we should be grateful that they are so clear in displaying who they truly are....don't ya think?

  9. Dude, I am with you. I am against women's studies, gender studies, second and third wave feminist theory because it is a bi-product of modern liberalism.

  10. Good question.  We label each other, and in our labeling, it's easier to make out the other as the bad guy/gal.  That is one of the easiest ways to make someone nonhuman and easier to attack; just label them.  I have been guilty of this.

  11. In this category they all seem to rant about the same things. Just a random reader

  12. I do realize this, and I make the distinction quite frequently here.
