  1. When h**l freezes over!

  2. In sports where a human referee/umpire is employed, occasional errors of judgement will always occur.

But after many years of playing and watching Rugby, I think Rugby referees are generally pretty good.

It was drummed into me as a young player, that sometimes the ref's decision goes against you - but not to complain because the next decision he makes could be to your advantage!  Funnily enough,  they do seem to average out nicely in a given game.

But above all, Rugby players do (or at least, did), stick to the unwritten rule that the referee's decision is final. This is in great contrast with the  over paid,  unsporting people who play Association football. The latter think it is perfectly normal to argue with and threaten referees, often with no sanctions being imposed.

  3. there were a couple of dodgy calls in tonight's game, for sure.

but isn't that part of the attraction of sport, the uncertainty of it all.

for me there hasn't been a more unfair decision this year than the one that robbed the socceroos in their last game against italy in the world cup.  but that's life and we move on.

  4. Hopefully soon !!!
