  1. Scientists are looking for traces of life or evidence that life existed there before. They have already found evidence that there was running water, and ice. This is a pretty good indication because water is essential for life to exist. Keep in  mind that life doesn't only refer to animals and plants, it also refers to microoscopic organisms.

  2. We aren't looking for life on Mars.  We aren't morons.  We're simply searching for signs that there could, at one point, have been life on Mars.  Signs such as water outside the ice caps, or fossilised microbial life.  Any signs like these will prove that life can start on other planets - the discovery of any life on a planet other than our own (even if it is dead now) would be the most amazing scientific find of humanity's existance.

  3. This is important to understand what happens on other planets. There could be or have been something there that our body has no immunity to. It is also developing technologies such as the computer you are using.

  4. There is no life on Mars and scientists know that, there could be life there before and that's what scientists are looking for right now, they are looking for evidence.

  5. Please call NASA! They are working hard for that information.

Just think, all this time they could have merely talked to you and the mysteries of the universe could have been theirs.

  6. "Just shows how badly mankind wants to prove God wrong -- but despite all their efforts, His word remains true.

Even if there was life on Mars, however, that doesn't prove anything! Just theoretically of course, because there clearly is no life on Mars. I can't believe we spend millions of dollars researching this."

Your fear of science, and your desperation about your own doubts in your beliefs, is painfully obvious through what you've said here...

  7. Only after astronauts lands there and investigate a large portion of territory for lifeforms past or present.

  8. Just shows how badly mankind wants to prove God wrong -- but despite all their efforts, His word remains true.

Even if there was life on Mars, however, that doesn't prove anything! Just theoretically of course, because there clearly is no life on Mars. I can't believe we spend millions of dollars researching this.

  9. Once a permanent base is on the moon, I hope we build some sort of device to dig all the way to the center to inspect every layer.  Likewise, when a base is built on Mars I hope we eventually dig all the way to the center.  Looking for life would be just one of many reasons for using this device.  To answer your question:  KEEP SEARCHING!

  10. Your answer is a time question I believe, and you are asking when a certain event will occur in the future, in this case when the scientific world will reach a consensus on the life on Mars question, right? All I can tell you is that Yogi Berra, the famous baseball catcher, said it best: "The trouble with predicting the future is that it is really hard." I agree with this.

  11. How are you so sure that Mars is, or was, lifeless?  Most scientists don't think that there is life on Mars now, but there is evidence that there was once running water.  This means that there might have been simple life at some point in the past.

  12. They've accepted it's probably currently devoid of life Einstein.  They're looking for past existence of life or the ability to sustain life in the future.
