Question:

When will scientists come up with a fuel alternative that's 100% green, effective, & inexpensive to make/use

For everyday use by everyone the world over, that is. Do you think it will ever happen? Is it even a possibility, given the way people currently think, act, and live?

Any thoughts are appreciated, and encouraged.

  1. they have; it's called hydrogen and the hydrogen fuel cell.

They're working on it for cars now.

Also, there are lots of things going on with solar and wind power right now, which are basically free, the only cost is building solar panels and windmills.

  2. Most fuels produce CO2 when burned ,but then there is hydrogen which will give water vapor and NO2...

  3. I remember a few years ago, one could for a few dollars, convert your car to burning propane. why hasn't the car manufacturers been installing this fuel source in autos for years. I think natural gas would work almost as well...

  4. If you want top shelve scientist you need a better political surface.  More often than not most talented scientist have been clobber faster than a babby seal living on a crummbling  ice shelf.  Many of my class mates that were in the honor society are now homeless and/on somekind of medication.   And while I might be generalizing; I'm basicallly pointing out the climate of our political times.  Oil $eems to stil be king... he is in our plastic plates... he paves the street... and creates our wars.

  5. This question has already been answered by many of your viewers. The power source already exist to eliminate our use of so much oil. We knew that oil would not last forever years ago.I don't think that our scientist would just be sitting on their rear ends for the past few decades. We just have too many vehicles and machinery that have not been converted to use this new source. Our machines have not been able to keep up with this transformation. We have too much invested with the machines of yesteryear! Nobody wants them anymore! What are we supposed to do with them? it's like starting all over again with the invention of the wheel

  6. As long as Big Business can make a $$$$$ ..... never.  Phil Skochilich

  7. The move is on for alternative fuels. I live in the southwest desert of Utah and foresee a greatly expanded use of energy resources from the wind. sun, hydroelectric, and geothermal energy, this year and many to follow.  The cost of start-up is probably the greatest challenge for pioneers of the new age of energy resource development.  The tax incentives for use of solar panels 20 years ago helped to launch that industry.

I cross my fingers that our new leaders in the white house and everywhere around the world will be bold in the assistance and development of new technology to produce inexpensive energy resources. There are already people developing devices and methods to use oil products that need to be encouraged to continue searching for even better devices and methods .The oil industry just shoot itself in the foot raising prices so high.  That action forced us all to venture into the greatest ever period of energy development.  It was about time something initiated a world wide conscious awareness of the  urgent and past due need for the development of cleaner, renewable, and less expensive energy resources.

  8. All I know is I have 2 cars that run on natural gas (methane), and it's super cheap ($10 to fill up in Utah) and way better for the environment than gasoline powered cars. Hardly anyone seems to know these cars exist, but mine have been around since 1999 and 2000, and they  were made by Ford. I think natural gas is a great way to go, because of the inexpensive fill-ups, cleanliness of use, and 98% of it comes from the USA, so our money stays here in our own economy. Check out my sources below for more info!

  9. There is research going on to create hybrid algae to be use to create Bio-diesel. This should be able create oil at a much higher rate then the current bio-fuel options. There is a company that is developing vertical closed loop system that minimized contamination for industrial utilization. It can also be stationed in desert environment so food producing farm land is not required to produce the algae. Because the algae absorbs co2 it reduces greenhouse gases. The residue from the process can be composted or turned into cattle feed. Check out algae bio-diesel on you tube so see news stories on this.

  10. they already invented it.. now, for everyday use..nope, they'll never release it. So much of the worlds wealth and profits come from gas and oil.  This is the way we have set things up.  To release this "new fuel" would create havoc on a global financial scale. For this reason, we will NEVER see this fuel in everyday use.

  11. about the time the last red American cent is transferd to either china or iran.

  12. while it might not be 100%, there are and have been Alternatives for a long time.

The biggest problem with this is, that if it is inexpensive, to make and use, then there is not enough money in it to interest people into inventing it.

people are more interested in making money, and personal comfort, than in helping the environment.

And the ones that are interested in the environment, cannot afford to make the changes needed.
