When will smoking be banned in Germany in restaurants?

When will smoking in restaurants in Germany be banned? I live in Rheinland-Pfalz. Does anyone know when or if smoking will be banned in restaurants in Rheinland-Pfalz? I am allergic to cigarettes smoke. I get sick, sometimes vomit, usually get a sore throat, sneeze, wheeze, cannot breathe, etc. Thus, I cannot eat in restaurants where people smoke. I hardly ever go to restaurants. I look forward to having restaurants that prohibit smoking. Does anyone know when this will happen here?

Here in California, it has been banned in restaurants for several years.  We even have a new 2008 law banning smoking in the car if children under 18 years old are present.

If you do not have any luck getting laws passed, you should complain directly to the businesses.  Perhaps you could suggest that someone open a restaurant that is voluntarily smoke-free.  I am certain that you are not alone in your opinion!

If people had known how dangerous secondhand smoke was before so many people started smoking, I doubt if smoking would have ever been allowed in public places.

Hopefully it will never be banned...

if you are allergic, just stay home...

smokers are tired of being singled out...why don't you ban fat people from restaurants...
