When will the 500 have a Pace Car that isn't a Corvette?

  1. Why should they change?  What should it be a Toyota Corolla?


  2. They've had the Viper many times as well.....

    One interesting note about the Viper, was that back in 1991, they were actually going to use a Dodge Stealth, but because the Stealth was a re-badged Japanese car and not American built, they went with the Viper instead......except that the Viper was not in production at the time, and the two Vipers that were used at the track for the race were prototypes....The other ceremonial cars used were, in fact, Stealths.  

    As a result, Rick Mears ended up getting a Dodge Stealth for his win, and not a prototype Viper.

  3. Who knows, for some strange reason men still think Corvettes are cool.

  4. Wasn't that long ago that it was a Camaro. You will only see domestic pace cars as the Indy 500 is an American race and would probably come under fire if they used a "rice-eater" as the pace car.
