Really, this is getting serious, we need to stand together and demand that things change, our government is corrupt, we all drive around like robots, or sheep, or mindless zombies.

When will it end, will we ever grow the balls, or get the guts to stand up and fight against the machine?

I understand that convenience is a nice thing to have, we are all used to it, and we are all weaker because of it, we are all dumber because of their technology, you say 'look how easy it is, I just touch the screen', I say look how far they are dumbing us down.

Maybe they know what the future holds, and they want us to be weak and easy to control when the fit hits the shan, and from what I see, it is just around the corner.

  1. A lot of Americans are already awake.  Just look at elections over the last 5 or 6 years.  A large number of incumbents are being replaced in both federal and state governments.  I will not lie.  I used to just sit back and watch from the sidelines as well.  As I got older and Wiser, I started to get very disgusted with my representation.

We have a huge problem in our political system.  The big money players, the lobbyists, and special interest groups control the system.  They manipulate it and the press has lost all objectivity. We have a gross amount of misinformation at every angle.  The news we see and hear every day  should be labeled "based loosely on small morsels of verifiable facts" because that's exactly what we get.

This situation did not start overnight so we would all be foolish to think it will be rectified in short order.  We need the lobbyists out of Washington and we need to fence in our election process.  No way should primaries for all 50 states be carried out over months. A few weeks would be more like it.  A monetary cap on campaign spending and debates that have questions from the general population.  Not the scripted and rehearsed questions we see currently and certainly not moderated by individuals who are unwilling or unable to keep the candidates on the subject matter.

Yes, we need to demand change and more Americans need to step up and be heard!  Write letters and E-mails to your representatives.  Take part in professional and trade organizations because they are very in tune with legislation that will effect you and your business.  Read multiple news sources in and out of this country and for goodness sake don't take everything at face value.  There is always two or more sides to a story.  Usually the truth is somewhere in the middle.  Use some common sense because if something sound too good to be true, it usually is just that.  Look deeper and you will find that the facts usually point you the right direction.

Finally, we live in a great nation and I love this country.  We just need to get off our behinds and quit resting on our laurels.  We have been tarnished a little but the metal below is still good.  We just need a good polishing.

  2. Most true anarchists are actually pure idiots who believe every bad thing they're told about the gov't.

    seems to fit you well.

  3. Everyone puts the blame on the government...not to say that it does not exist there, in part...   But until the American people stop being so selfish, lazy, lustful, and moneyhungry ..

the country is never going to change, much less the government.  The deterioration of the home is where the trouble started....fix the home and the country will come around - but not overnight.

  4. Too late. And you're one of those sheeple with your Marxist worldview.http://www.jonchristianryter.com/2008/08...

  5. one day I walked in Starbucks and asked for a Turkish coffee.

But the guys didn't know what was a Turkish coffee!

then I walked out calling them " Ignorants'  and showed them my middle finger!

  6. the answers here astounded me.  Being from a so-called Third World country,  it never occured to me that American govt is also that corrupt (?) considering its stature in the world of nations. I just hope this is just a view of a dissatisfied minority.

As far a i know, Americans have all the freedoms in the world; their govt  will not imposed its citizens to do that or to this, other than what is widely acceptable  as just and proper for govt survival; thus, its only on one's own making that one becomes "like robots, etc." that you mentioned.

The choice is on the individual.  Technology is there for us to enjoy and  be convenient; it challenges us to invent useful things.

By the way you mentioned "mindless zombies" are there "thinking zombies" ?  As a non-english speaker i find this perflexing.

  7. The reason we're in this mess is because most Americans do not vote and this is what we get. We have become a country of whiners and complainers and weak.

  8. Wow... read one to many conspiracy stories?

The government doesn't control any of this... we are a free country and it is actually the people-controlled technological corporations that advance technology... what shred of proof do you have that the government is "dumbing as down?" That doesn't make any sense... especially when it's us that is making the technology.

As long as there is a market, it will be provided... study capitalism much? I suggest you look into what actually makes our country run instead of blaming it on non-existent Big Brother... you'll get more out of life.

  9. Yes and the only way it will change is iff (if and only if) you vote against both the Republican and the Democrat party.

  10. I actually hope and believe that Obama can help wake this country up and expose some of the corruption. AT least it could be a start, you think?  course we'll probably be spied on and wire tapped and audited for even talking like this!LOL but really!

  11. 1. Less than 50% of eligible voters are registered to vote.

    2. Less than 50% can name their local Member of Congress.

    3. Less than 25% have ever read the Constitution.

    4. About  20% of adults are functional illiterates.

If you want to know what the future holds, go to a library and ask for help in finding a science fiction short story published in April 1951 by Cyril M. Kornbluth entitled "The Marching Morons". If you do a web search on that title you can download a summary of the story.
