Is construction going to end anytime soon on the Temple in Barcelona? What's the projected finish date?

  1. Never. it will keep on constructing..

  2. The people there told me that it is scheduled to be done in about 11 years, but the reality is that people expect around 19 - 20 years.

The entire outer shell is pretty much finished,  They only have to finish the interior work.

  3. At first read of the subject line, I had no idea what the "Temple of the Holy Family" was until I read further your question to realize it's the Sagrada Familia (web: http://www.sagradafamilia.org/ )

I recall that all the construction work is being done voluntarily by unpaid volunteers and freely provided materials. So if this is true, imagine how long it could take.

In some ways, the Sagrada Familia is probably getting more paid visitors as an UNfinished church than it will once it's a working church and (possibly freely) open to the public - or at least entry with a small fee, much less than people pay now.

Once finished, I'd imagine that many/most of the places now accessible will be closed off to the public so now's the time to see it.
