When will we start seeing small diesel cars like the ones in europe? I think the demand at this time is higher than ever.

  1. Who knows for sure when they will arrive here but its very possible the next two to three years will reveal a huge change in the direction of passenger cars. Subaru has created a diesel Legacy, VW has always been at the head of the curve with Golfs and Jettas. As prices soar we will see more vehicles like these more than likely.

  2. Anything that gets good fuel mileage is not good for the USA.  Its a shame that now we have to struggle with raising fuel prices.

  3. You'll have to wait until Bush gets kissed off by Obama..

  4. never and why would you want one diesel more expansive

  5. did we forget the VW Rabbit ?

  6. what?  um i was just in europe for 10 days, they don't have small diesel cars, they have small gas cars.  they do have vehicles that run on diesel, but it's not like a huge amount or anything.  they mostly run on gas, just like here.  i can't stand the smell of diesel, and i'm really sensitive to it.  with all of the traffic congestion and narrow streets flanked by big buildings, i would have been able to smell it somewhere, but i never got the faintest hint of it anywhere.  also their gas is like $10 a gallon if you go through the conversions and figure it out.  diesel is more expensive than that so y would they want to drive diesel cars?

and idk about small diesel powered cars, but you can get small diesel powered trucks.  my boyfriend had a diesel chevy s-10.  it's rare but you can get it.  the motor was by isuzu.  it got like 40 mpg, but it's really hard to get parts for something like that, so he got rid of it when he started having a couple problems with it

  7. Never, the US thrives and exists off gas profit. They do not want people to purchase economical vehicles. The govt will not allow

  8. not in your lifetime pal

  9. seeing as how diesel is like a DOLLAR more a gallon than gas. Then i would say yes, most definitely..... /sarcasm

  10. never

  11. The U.S. will never switch to diesel cars. Once we come up with the battery technology we will switch to fully electric cars. Until then hybrids will increase in demand.

  12. when we get in less accidents...
