When will the bay bridge be fixed?

does anyone know when it will be open becuase i was supposed to go to the beach down there and i need to cross taht brigde to get there

The bridge is open and there are no scheduled closures until Labor Day 2009 (yes next year).  They are building a replacement span next to the eastern end that is seismically fit.  They "say" it will be completely finished in 2013.  The links below have all the info.

What's the rush?  It's only been what, 15 years now?  Let's see, the earthquake was 1989...nope, 19 years.
