When will the bush administration be held accountable for the Iraq war?

It violates the UN charter because it wasn't approved by the Security COuncil, 500,000 innocent children died from the Anglo-US embargo on Iraq from 1991-2003, 1 million innocent Iraqis are now dead, torture at ABu Gharaib, violating the Geneva Conventions. Any one who says the Iraq war isn't illegal doesn't have a clue about international law and relations, I have actually studied international relations and got an A, I am a political science major.

  1. Our president did nothing wrong. You are just typical of the Bush haters

  2. "500,000 innocent children died from the Anglo-US embargo on Iraq from 1991-2003,"  You mean from the UN sanctions during that time and the 15 resolutions?

should we also hold clinton accountable for violating the serbians who were merely trying to stop the Muslim illegal immigrants who were taking over their country?

no one i know disputes that Abu Gharaib violated the Geneva Conventions.  That's why we prosecuted some soldiers.

And don't forget, Iraq was not a sovereign nation as it surrendered during the conflict with Kuwait and was under a cease-fire agreement which it signed and agreed to, regardless of the UN's position or invovlement.  That agreement made clear to Iraq the cease-fire would end if they violated the terms, it was not hidden in the fine print.  Iraq, after agreeing to those terms, signed the agreement and then continued to violate the terms for ten years.

Perhaps you don't believe in contracts or agreements.

  3. No one will ever be accountable because to many are involved. If you know history, you know these things have happened throughout history. Unfortunatley innocent people die because of wars.

  4. check UN Security Council resolution 1441 then rethink of whether it was approved or not.

" also 1441 was did not call for the use of force"

authorizing use of 'any means nescessary' to stabilize the region ( defined as kuwait, Iraq itself and all neighboring states )  well.... any means nescessary would in fact include use of force.

  5. as soon as they hold the Democratic Congress accountable for supporting it.

  6. I hope it is sooner, rather than later, but that large land purchase in Paraguay makes me wonder if we will ever see it come to pass.

  7. When common sense is thrown out the window.

Look at your own comments - those children died not because of the embargo but because of the UN corruption in the oil-for-food program.

The issue with Abu Ghrib was an internal disciplinary matter in the US Army.  Which - if you had been paying attention - you should be aware that the Army was conducting three independent investigations into before the media found out about it.

The 1 million dead Iraqis claim is pure BS.  This is based on some partisan studies that relied on your ignorance about internal events in Iraq to present a misleading statistical picture.

And the Iraq war was legal - if for no other reason the fact that Iraq was in violation of the cease-fire signed in 1991.  I take it your international relations classes did not mention this?

Maybe you should look at things with an open mind.

  8. During the Iraq fly overs after the 1991 war with Iraq. We were getting shot at by ground fire. That is an undeclared act of war. Under all compacts we have signed they all give us a right to defend ourselves.

    Even the UN ugliness.

  9. Does your A in international relations blind you to the atrocities that Al Qaeda and insurgents carry out in Iraq, or do those follow the Geneva conventions?  Who is going to punish the suicide bombers for their activities in Iraq, which are probably the most flagrant violations of war seen to date?  The UN?

How can any war, which is basically mass murder, ever be considered legal in any common law sense?  War is the absence of legality.

  10. when clinton is held accountable for THE IGNORING of al qaeda for eight years that caused the war.
