  1. i think that they should deal for huston street. the a's dont want him and he is a great pitcher

  2. I have no idea

  3. They dont really have a choice considering the bullpen....

  4. They said last night that we can expect a trade for a reliever sometime this week, so they are right on it.

  5. I think they FINALLY realized it when Ryan Braun's bat met Ryan Franklin's heartbreakingly down-the-middle fastball and ended up in the left center field bleachers. I sure as heck slammed my fist down when it happened. Time for a change without a doubt. I know our options aren't real great now but why not Russ Springer? Experienced veteran who's just real solid. Might have to play the bullpen merry go round, too.

  6. NEVER, UNTIL THEY GET ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFFS! AND THAT WILL BE SOON!  tony larussa must be drinking again! bye cards!! goodbye for 2008!

  7. being a seattle mariner fan, i remember ryan franklin, who didn't make it as a starter and got suspended for steroid use. That said, he's been good with the cards in a set-up role, but doesn't have the temperment to be a closer--something larussa is finding out. I don't suspect ryan will have too many closing opportunities in the future. Don't count the cards out just yet, there is still a long way to go...

  8. When the Brewers pound on them next series.

  9. paitence young Jedi... the cards will be ok... let the Brewers peak in July... it will be ok... sit on these kids... get em experience it will be better in the long run.  Sherrill would be good tho... you'd get him for 2-3 years.

  10. They need the front office to show a little guts.  I don't think this is a Larusa issue, I think its a front office issue.

Larusa doesn't have anyone else that can even try to close.  I'd love a trade, but until then the best thing to do is stick with a young picture and maybe he'll build a little confidence up and break even on save opportunities.  (This series with Milwaukee was embarrassing).

  11. As a Mariner fan whose own closer (Who got over 40 saves last year, and only 2 or 3 blown saves) has been on the DL this year for months, I can tell you finding a good closer is not easy.

Of course, I saw the upset the other day where Franklin gave up a 2 run homer in the top of the ninth to lose the game.

In case you didn't know, he used to be a Mariner. I think that my team is just cursed, and Franklin is bringing it with him to St. Louis.
