i read that the earth will crash into the sun in aprox 2-3 weeks can any1 give me a more accurate answer?

It wont.At least not soon.When the sun will die 5 billion years from now,maybe then.The theory is the sun will expand to the size of  a red giant.It will suck in mercury and venus.But the earth might be saved because some scientists believe the sun's gravity will weaken when that happens which might be just enough for the earth to escape.No need to be happy about that because humans would have moved to another planet and all life would have become extint long before that.

Of course somebody really stupid might take the Speed of Earth (29.7 km/s) and the distance to the sun (145 million kilometer) and say: It takes 57.87 days (Or about 8 weeks) to travel this distance.

But that is wrong. Earth does not travel towards the sun, but almost tangential to it. It's distance to the sun is pretty stable for billions of years now. And if at all, it is actually traveling away from the sun as the sun gets lighter every second.

BTW: What is the meaning of this Sawya2 garbage? A form of a spambot tag?
