i heard there was supposed to be an xbox 360 portable

No one knows. I'm guessing not within the next 2 years, because new Xbox 360 games are still coming out. When they stop producing 360 games like the GameCube, then they will.

Plus, the Xbox 360 came out only a few years ago. Releasing consoles so rapidly like that isn't a very good move for companies because people who have just bought the 360 may be very angry about it. I know I would.

Not for like 10 years, the software come out this year. At the E3 the project manager said that its all about software and that it'll last a decade.

In an interview during E3, i forget the guy's name but he's high up in Microsoft and said that the 360 has a 5 year minimum life span. If you look it up on google you'll find the interview
