  1. The eclipse is over.  It was night in Oklahoma city when it happened.  But if the Earth was transparent, the Moon would have appeared to miss the Sun from there.  You can catch it on your wayback machine - which is right in front of you (I'm psychic).

The next big meteor show peaks on Tuesday, August 12th.  You'll need at least one good eye.  And... that's it.  You may want to bring a light jacket (it'll be night), bug spray, a blanket to lie on or a reclining chair.  Go out to a dark sky site (not downtown Oklahoma City - geez, even i've heard of that so it must have tons of light pollution) sit or lie down after sunset.  At first you get to see Earth grazers.  They're really cool, but there aren't many of them.  After local midnight, you get to see meteors coming straight at you.  Don't worry, none of them make it to the ground.  And, as they're the size of a grain of dust, they're not that big of a deal.

You don't have to wait.  The peak is on the 12th.  But you can probably see a few tonight.  And there are at least some meteors every night of the year.  What are you waiting for?  Oh, it's still daytime.
