I don't reckon we'll see one until at least 2020

In 1929 the stock market collapsed ... we're not collapsing, we're slowly bleeding to death, but I think the bear factors in the economy are much greater than in 1929. I think this depression we have in store will make 1929-34 look like a teddy bears picnic

It was 1953 before the dow broke the 1929 high. I'm 27, I'd be surprised if when I retire at 55 the dow is above 15'000

As long as oil and food prices keep rising adding to inflation I don't think there is room for reducing interest rates, ensuring the credit crunch continues. I think your 2010 is nearer the mark

When we least expect it. When all seems lost. When the market collapse is at it's height and people believe it will get worse. At that time it will take all you can muster to get in. And most people will not. Nobody can be sure of when that exact day will be, so the best way is to continuously buy small amounts on a continuous basis.
