Well, my friend, the only American city in the running bid to host the 2016 Summer Games is Chicago. The IOC will announce the host city for the 2016 Summer Games in October 2009.

it wont unless america put themselves forward to be accepted as the hosts of a future games, many countries who want to hold them will put themselves forward and the IOC will decide who, the hosts of the 2016 games will be chosen some time next year.

Chicago has put in a bid to be the host of the 2016 olympics. At the moment they are ahead of the other candidate cities in terms of points so its very likely that Chicago will host the 2016 games.
