If people read Nobody´s Perfect: A Critique of Modern American Society, by Richard W. Glukstad, then perhaps we could figure out a way to end corruption in the USA. The author makes sense and gives good ideas on how to make America a better place for all people, not special interest groups.

  1. It will take more than a two term President and greater than a 55-64% majority of Congress to amend authorization of spending for defense.  It is bigger than elective office and an even more dominant feature in American society.  Look at the recent uproar over the Air Force awarding EDS a multi-billion dollar contract to build new US Air Force Re-Fueling Tankers over U.S. based Boeing. This is just one project.

I would say that it is beyond anyone's control to reign it in, especially since quietly the world is at war. To de-escalate the military apparatus is foolish for an elected official in this climate.  The system is loose and it will take something catclysmic to reverse that which we know is overboard to be in line with the American people.

  2. when you refer to special interest groups, do you also mean environmental groups, the NEA , illegal immigrants, labor unions, etc, etc?

  3. The answer is NEVER!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, people have always been interested in one thing..........$$$$$$$$ . Therefore, there will always be a war, and the USA military /government will guarantee to be the first to be involved in it....... The citizens of the USA always say, "no war, just love and peace." Yet, we all participate in the war by paying our taxes, filling up our cars with gas, etc., etc. etc. Also, the USA citizens always celebrate and promote the military when we are ready to go off to war and when we've defeated a battle against another country. Even though the people in the USA "don't" want a war. The bottom line is, we're too greedy and self-centered to refuse the things that are given to us from the wars.

  4. The production and design of weapons of mass destruction

is counter productive to a normalized society.

If we use the our genetically honed wisdom , We would recog-

the huge savings of designing a more low-tech form of National Defense.

I propose that our military act accordingly , by dropping every used car and truck tire , in the Western Hemisphere - on any Nation - that opposes heavy drinking and chain smoking.
