In the US it will be when Campaign Finance Reform finally takes hold. Right now, it is virtually impossible for a non-rich candidate to win. I would like to run one day for office, but I don't have tens of thousands of dollars in burning a hole in my pocket for TV ads bashing my opponents. Also, in many federal elections, only Democrats and Republicans get matching federal funds. So how did the Independent lose out? Weren't the Founding Fathers the original Independents? I dont remember that requirement in the Constitution where it says you have to be a Deomcrat or a Republican to win a federal election. But it must be there because 99%+ of all federal election winners are of one of the two parties. Any other vote is categorically dismissed as a 'wasted vote'.

As soon as the American people get there back bones back and finally realize that the Government we have been stuck with over the last 60-70 years, are nothing but  Corporate owned puppets!!!

The American people need to clear out the whole government sytem and bring in all new blood, the government today is nothing more then a bunch of senior citizens and most are like robotic zombies and burn outs! That's why nothing ever gets done for the American people, Just stuff for corporations get done! A lot of big bucks funneled under the government tables behind closed doors daily for favors!

We need a President and Government that is really for the American people or why bother voting anymore! h**l the way things are today, If you have many,many hundreds of millions of dollars you can buy the election for Presidency, just get the big bucks and buy your way into the white house and of course it helps if your a great liar! You have to be good at making great empty promises to the people to get in, but to corporate you have to be honest to them to get big bucks coming into your bank account! and of course you have to be a pure r****d and veto all bills that come in that actually help the American people!

It's time the American people fire the whole bunch of them and start with all new! The oldies are just to old and never want change! It's pretty bad when our President we have now has the worst rating in American history, yet he's still in Office! That shows how much the American people have given up on there own country! How can anything be done or changed when they just don't care anymore! Were constantly taxed to death! and the Government works there butts off daily just to find more ways to tax us!

That's part of the New American dream is to pay ton's of taxes! And at the rate they keep making more tax bills, they will soon have our whole pay checks!

We have to loose it first and we haven't, we are just letting it go with the flow, to see what happens, we are not stupid.

We never been invaded, so far we just play along with the situation on duty, see? we also get bored and we like to play.

It seems to me that Americans have lost their passion.  Back in the 60 and 70's people thew a fit and protested at what they didn't agree with - Vietnam and Gas.  Now we have some that speak out but not many.  $3.50/gallon gas.  Come on people - why are we sitting back complaining a little but pretty much just taking it up the A**. Where are the marches and the boycotts of thousands of people.  And then the War. People complain about Cindy Sheehan and even if they agree with what she was doing they still think she is a little crazy.  Back in Vietnam there would have been thousands of Cindy Sheehans.  Now we just watch TV and shake our heads.   NO PASSION!!!
