Its not the governments job to supply everyone with health care, college education and reward people for bad behavior.

I understand that sometimes people need a helping hand but well fare is supposed to be a helping hand not a hand out.

By taxing the oil companies more, they will only pass this on to the end consumer, which will just raise the price of gas. Another thing you need to think about is if at first its big oil, then it goes onto another industry and when will it stop. Chances are if you have a 401k or pension plan you probably own stock in these companies, and the more they make the more you make.

I believe you should make as much as you can, and keep as much as you can. The more you keep the more FREEDOM you have to do what you want, and isn't that the American dream?

And before you think I'm some high paying executive, I'm a truck driver that works between 55 - 60 hours a week on the midnight shift in a state with one of this countries worst economies. Michigan.

  1. If you look at the world, there are 2 kinds of people. People who work their butt off to be successful, and people who are only concerned with having friends and being liked. Obama's crowd is the insecure crowd; the ones who think its more important for the french to like us than it is for the Russians to be afraid of us. Unfortunately, most women and young people are weak of mind, so its always going to be a close call. Hopefully once people find out how amazing Sarah Palin is McCain will pull away for his incredible judgement in selecting her.

  2. I bet the choice of Gov. Palin woke a lot of people up.  If you want the Rabid Right running the country... vote McCain. If you think we've had enough of that...vote Obama.

  3. We are in touch with the pulse of America.

Two-thirds (66%) say it is the responsibility of the government to take care of people who can't care for themselves.

A comparable percentage (65%) believes that the government should guarantee every citizen enough to eat and a place to sleep.

What may be more surprising is that, in spite of the rising budget deficit, a 54% majority thinks the government should help more needy people even if it means going deeper into debt.

  4. On 11/5/08.  Then instead of hearing about how great Obama is, we'll have to hear about how the election was rigged or about how racist America is.

  5. Great statements!  They just don't get it! (I'm from Michigan too)

  6. I am scared of Sarah Palin

She has already flip-flopped on so many issues

    Pro-drilling in Anwar

Says global warming is not our fault

Wants polar bears off the endangered species list

The list goes on and on

  7. the won't wake up until they really start reading between his "lines", do a little research people, the media treats him like he is a God.

    Another Michigander here...GO BLUE!!!

  8. u are absolutely right and they wont wake up ever

  9. We gave them a free education, but they ate the books!

  10. I'm going to wake up on election day at about 6:00am and go vote for Obama. I'm in a similar situation to you. I care. Why don't you? I guess it's a matter of how well we value others in relation to how much we value our own well being. Do you possibly pat yourself on the back for what you've accomplished a bit too much? If you have worked honestly and hard all of your life to get what you have, I absolutely have congratulations to you! If you have a good employer and insurance, you should consider yourself lucky. There are unfortunately, more people in this world and this nation than there are good jobs to be had and there will always be someone at the bottom of the **** pile. It doesn't have to be me or you, but there will always be people there, someone a bit less talented, not quite as on the ball, but just as hardworking and deserving who will NEVER have the benefits we enjoy. Most people do work hard to improve themselves, but until human beings are valued over money, they will not recieve the survivable lifestyle they deserve. So tell me, how is society as a whole served by having a poverty class? It may be an individual's fault that he is in that class, but the problem will always exist and is a source of greater problems than those you would hope to solve with your ideas.

  11. Wide awake, don't make much money but work long hours, don't own stocks, no McCain/Palin.

I was a Clinton support and now I support Obama-Biden.

  12. I agree with alot of what you had to say.. people aren't gonna wake up until they realize obama is not going to help the working class person... and neither are the republicans.. they are all out for the money and its just something we have to deal with.. they continue to print more money which makes the dollar worth less and also in turn creates a passive tax.. so dont look for releif any time soon my friend... im having it hard enough as it is now to.. barely scraping by... the democrats just want more of your money and they think they know how to spend it better than we americans can.. thats the long and the short of it.. hope that helps... we'll talk more soon.. if you want..
