  1. I have followed this bill closely also.

HR 2642 was passed by the Senate on June 27, 2008.

It was presented to the President to sign on that day.

According to numerous articles, the bill which includes unemployment extension for thirteen weeks, should be signed sometimes during the week of June 30th - July 3rd.

  2. The Senate THANKFULLY approved it tonight before going on a 10 day 4th of July vacation (must be nice). It will go to the President by next week. If he doesn't drag his feet (and I don't think he will because he is almost out of money for the war), he will sign it and you should get a letter within 2-3 weeks to start calling in for your extended benefits.

Good luck in finding a job!

  3. I have been following this closely.  It should be today.  The Pentagon wants this war bill enacted as soon as possible.  And our President wants that funding from congress to keep his little war going.  Thankfully for us, the extension is part of the bill.
