Question:

When will the "rich" say "enough?"?

I keep hearing critics say the rich need to pay more taxes. Obama is saying they should pay nearly 16% of their income over $250k into social security - like they'd ever get a return on that. When will they say enough and just move to another comfortable country with great views - and take their money with them leaving us in a lurch?

  2. Moving on is not the answer. I believe that after four years of increasing taxes and demoralizing our fine troups, Americans will maybe feel the pain of the archaic policies, possibly wakening up to a enlighten point of view that 'Change' does NOT necessarily mean improvement. However, status quo does Not seem to be working either. I have hope that the young Americans, ones that are not totally overcome with the disease of Entitlement Syndrome, will wake up and realize that all these give away, production impairing, incintive destroying policies of the Obamamanics will rise up and go in a Revolutionary Mindset and vote to throw out the 'Broken System' that poisons our governmental system. America is at a crossroads. Paint it however you want. justify it however you want, but this country is in perilous times. WE must ACT and ACT NOW. Revolt on Washington is clearly stated in the Declaration of the Independence.

  3. Like more taxes for the rich is the answer?  They constitute 1% of the population. We need to cut wasteful gov't spending.  How 'bout not giving away so many freebies to people who are not citizens of this country.  Medical, food, education, foreign aid.  How about concentrating on what we need nationally? Why does the rest of the world expect the U.S. to foot the bill for catastrophies they all suffer? We need to stop expecting our people (that includes an extra burden on the rich) to fund the world.

  4. Its happened... and its happened coporately.     But all in all its a great country.  Rich people used to pay 70% in taxes.   and 250K is not really rich if youhave large family and live in high cost city.

  5. If and when they decide that they do NOT wish to contribute, then I say "LEAVE".

    Many of us served in the military during a time of war, we did not ask for anything.  We all gave some, some gave all. It is not about a %, if you wish to look at life that way get the h**l out of the country you are NOT needed.  Did the founding fathers think that way?  No they put it all on the line, to make the break from England.  No one was guaranteed any return on their investment.

  6. Do you really think 'the rich' have money in the U.S.?? They have their money where ever they can pay the least taxes and the most profit. They have offshore accounts that house their money. They have phoney charities and fake corporations etc. Those people with the most money pay the

    least taxes because they can afford high priced lawyers and accountants to set up all the tax dodges necessary to avoid it.

    If they get caught they use their influential friends to bail them out or go to another country out of the taxman's reach. The rich don't care. The people who are really burdened with taxes are the working and middle class who work at salaried jobs and get taxed at the source. They have no way of hiding their earnings from the taxman.

    The US has the lowest tax burden, by far, of any industrialized country.  They could move out to Africa or something if they want, I guess.
