  2. The SAT results are due to be reported back to Schools on 8 July.  However, at present there may (note:MAY) be some difficulty with this being achieved.  Channel 4 last Friday -6th June) had a news report of delays being possible due to the new marker agency - ETS Europe - who won the contract for organising the distribution and marking of the tests. The company admitted that they have had many problems this year, which in turn has meant that papers have not arrived with markers in due time, and other difficulties.  However, it is hoped that the deadline can be met.

In any event, it is extremely good of you to be so concerned for your pupil, but try to reassure him/her that the results will only be a very small picture in the overall scheme of things to come throughut educational life.  It is a great pity that such pressures are put on to children through these tests, and moreso for children who have learning difficulties.

If the results are being used to assist Secondary schools to band children on arrival, I would expect them also to be using other information provided by the primary school: school records, teacher assessment records etc.  Those should help school to judge the child  more acccurately, and would also assist in giving a context for the results themselves.  I hope that helps you and the student.
