This is something that has puzzled me.Although im only 15 i like to philosiphise (if thats how you spell it) about when and what year the world will sort of be like The Jettsons. When will light sabers actually become reality? When will we cure cancer? When will we fly around in hover-crafts instead of cars?

I know this might sound crazy but will this time come soon?Because i want to be able to see the day this becomes reality. We all picture a life where jet packs are a normal thing and where robots are house maids.

I watch the science channel and discovery channel, and also read articles based on this topic...im really just wondering if our small steps of discovery will ever make it big?

YES IM YOUNG BUT PLEASE BE SERIOUS,

  1. Never

  2. In some ways, we already are.

  3. First of all, I'm 15. Your not 15, and if you are, that's a very sad day for humanity.

Second of all, the day you see jetpacks being used as a common form of travel is the day we find a means for efficient alternative energy. Human beings will step into a new era once we realize how trivial fighting is, and we are 'enlightend' as one species. I doubt this will happen in the next century or two, but still it'll come eventually, hopefully before we get too involved in our petty fighting.

  4. never fear, im 15 and i think about that kinda stuff too ...

as hard as you try, you'll never reach the horizon

i think some of this stuff will become reality before we realise, because they way we see it in our head may be entirely different to what it looks like.

if you think about it, some factories use lasers to cut steel.

many women these days wear their hair in a space-age way, like victoria beckham.

but i dont think we will ever cure cancer.  why?  because with each attempt the disease will adapt.  it will get more resilient. it will get more horrible. we may cure a little piece of it, but along will come another, stronger version.
