with the new technology in electric vehicles how soon will it be before we can expect a vehicle that can tow and haul heavy loads I have an e 85 truck now but it is 55 miles to the closest filling station

  1. you could hybridize or E-convert your current truck.  All it takes is money.

    It costs app $10,000 to $25,000 to e-convert a mid to small size passenger car.  Appx half the cost is batteries.

    E-conversions with regenerative braking are a lot more expensive, but also more efficient...

    Do the e-conversion and add a generator to make a quasi-hybrid and you double the range before power sags.  With the generator (if chosen well) you can maintain 55 mph on level smooth road as long as you have fuel.  Then get another 20 to 30 miles (continuously reducing maximum speed as the batteries deplete) before the vehicle won't move.

  4. more then likley you will see bio diesel versions first then maybe bio diesel/electric. I would say by 2020 you will see it if not sooner. Just from what i have seen in the industry
