You won't.  That is a scam that's been around since the 1950s. It crops up every so often--mst often when oil prices jump.

Look at the basic chemistry. Supposedly this "water car" burns hydrogen and oxygen in the air to powr the car--having first extracted the hydrogen from the water.

Here's the catch: to extract the hydrogen in the first place takes EXACTLY as much energy as you will get back by burning it.  Leaving a net amount of zero to power the car.

It's a scam. Period.

I got one already. It's got a big diesel turbine on the top that drives a massive water pump. The car goes forward by pumping water backwards onto the road. I dunno why but a lot of people get real pissed behind me... but h**l I get around and clean the roads too.

that's right of the previous answer. never. the water powered car you've been hearing about is not purely water powered. it is still powered by the ordinary gasoline that our cars use. it just uses the gas output of water from a certain device in which assists the gasoline used to run the car. and besides, it's a hoax. don't give in to it. the sure way and proven way to increase mileage or save on gas is what you can see being used widely in some countries. LPG liquefied petroleum gas cars. u can convert your car to run on LPG and on gas. i just don't know how much the conversion is but LPG is generally more preferred to be environmentally safe and it saves up to 30-50% on fuel costs. do not be fooled by scams. always rely on what most people use.

Impossible, so it will never happen. What chemical processes will produce the energy to power the engine?

The usual thing people say is the hydrogen in the water is the fuel - but how do you split a covalent bond of a molecule? To do this needs lots of energy - a fuel OTHER than the water to split it back into its constituent elements, hydrogen and oxygen. This makes it not worthwhile (not to mention the fact that both hydrogen and oxygen are highly explosive, this could make cars into bombs on wheels)

The best and most realistic alternative to a car powered by a fossil fuel like petrol or diesel, would be an electric car. Battery and electric motor isn't quite capable of producing a one just yet that can give adequate performance, but it is getting there. One day you will pull into a garage, and instead of reaching for a pump, you will swap your flat battery for a fully charged one and drive away.

Myths about water powered cars have existed since the 1800's.

Water in itself contains no available energy. However it can be used as a vechicle to transform energy from one place or one source to another. Basically the energy must come from somewhere.

Hydrogen in water is a combustable, however the energy to create hydrogen from water is the same as the energy it produces less the inefficiencies of the process.

Steam for example is used to power mechanical processes, However the energy to produce the steam comes from somewhere else.

Read the laws of "Conservtion of energy" or the "first law of thermodynamics" in wikipedia. You will find it informative.

Water powered cars - I'm guessing you mean cars that run solely on water yea? That's not gonna be on the market for a while.

But, some smart guys have actually been using some conversion kits in their cars to increase fuel economy in their cars by using water. The methods have been there for a while, these guys are just innovating it, such as, making special designs that requires less energy to split hydrogen in a more stable state from water.

It's has really become a craze lately coz of the rising gas prices. Go on Youtube and see for yourself how many people are doing it.

Just be careful with some of the scam sites popping up. oh and btw, you can follow the instruction manuals to make your car run on water yourself in your garage, with easily avaialble equipments.

So, yea. PARTIALLY water powered cars are already here!

Yes, I've bought the eBook "Run your car on water" and installed the water fuel cells into my car. Personally, I didn't think it was possible to do but it actually works. I installed it into my son's 1989 Toyota Camry instead of my car, just in case it stuffed up haha

Also, I'm not a mechanic, but following the step-by-step instructions was easy enough, so I'm sure you won't have any problems.

I recommend you try it out, I'm not exactly sure how much money I've saved on petrol/gas but I know the car travels a heck of a lot further than before and for a fraction of the price.
