Stephen Hawking keeps getting beaten up by his wife, according to ten nurses who have come forward to give statements to police.

Hawking, the wheelchair-bound 62-year-old Cambridge professor, who is paralysed by motor neurone disease keeps showing up at the hospital with unexplained injuries, including a broken wrist, gashes to his face, and a cut lip.

One nurse told the Times of London that Hawking's wife Elaine Hawking, 53, had repeatedly assaulted the professor and routinely refers to him as "thicko" and "dumbo" and that he's afraid to be alone with her when she's in a bad mood because she can pick him up and handle him roughly.

Counter stories were issued by some womens groups that he deserved it as he was a wife beating b@5t@rd!

is this funny, or ok?

To those that want to dismiss it as, 'men are stronger than women'. Women use objects.

Also, women are much better at nagging, which can eventually drive anyone up the wall. I am sure that this will explain a lot of male violence, and some of the tragedies reported recently.

I have an uncle who just left his wife after 10 years of suffering abuse. She pushed him down the stairs, stole his car, and then called the police to have him arrested for domestic violence. He has been told many times to leave because of her abuse. She has cheated on him many times, does not work, and uses drugs. His only response is, i don't want to leave HER/the kids. It makes me laugh every time someone talks to me about it.

I think thats terrible, doesnt matter who is getting abused, whether it be man woman child or animal. really, a woman beating an wheelchair bound elderly man that is unaccepetable

Any sort of abuse is NOT funny

Whether it is the man who is a "wife beater" or whether the woman is the abuser.

Either way, it shouldn't be tolerated.

I have a male friend who was actually abused by his wife - she had being into body-building since she was 14 years old. He would often have cuts and gashes all over his face.

It was often "brushed under the carpet" because he should of been able to "take it like a man."

Some women are incredibly strong, a lot more women are not enrolling into karate classes to build up their own strength as there are many more 'dangerous' people out there, a lot of men have became 'softer' particularly with their girlfriend/wife.

The girlfriend/wife then realises they have someone to bully and abuse.

How any woman can hit a man OR woman is beyond me, especially an elderly man in a wheelchair.

It is neither funny, nor ok. It needs to be stopped like it would be if it was a man hitting a woman.

Funny? If it's funny why all of sudden it feels like crying? It's abuse, the worse kind, it's sad, unacceptable, hurtful and cruel. Either its husbands or wives or children or even animals at the receiving end. Personally I think ppl who can't control their temper and lift a hand at any opportunity given and due to their mood swings or for ANY other reason, should be all locked up, so it's not funny, not at all.

slaps or a smacks ... well some couples like to include this kind of physical abuse into their s*x life ... but even this is only ok if both parties agree to it ...

Sorry but I find this to be very entertaining. If a grown man is getting beat up by his wife, he should be laughed at because men are naturally stronger than women. However if he is in a position where he cant help himself, I do find that to be ridiculous and sad.

I know someone who was regularly beaten by his wife after she had been drinking.

It was so bad he had no option but to leave.

Also after about the fourth or fifth punch I would have no qualms about knocking her out in self defense.

It's NOT funny or right. when Men are abused by their gf or wife it is sad just like when a Woman is abused by their bf or husband.

It's even worst when they BOTH do it to each other. and they do it in front of their kids. these kids see how when their parents are angry they beat each other they think it's OK to do this. so the cycle of abuse grows.

But a LOT of people are lucky they break the cycle so it will not be passed on.

Who  ever thinks men can NOT be hurt in abuse please listen to this. my mom broke my dad's jaw and gave him 2 black eyes. a week before he died. he died on Tuesday 6/24/08 so you see a man can get hurt easy by women and believe me watching my parents beat each other was NOT funny watching my dad get beat up on by my mom was NOT funny NOT funny at all. what should the man do to stop her, punch her in the face? my friend is a 20stone bouncer and was in an abusive relationship with a tiny 8 stone woman- he had gouge marks and bruises regularly but was too embarrassed to tell anyone, and she laughed at him because she said she would tell police it was self defence (it wasn't) and they would never believe him, he would be the one in trouble. Is that funny? Surely any unwarrented physical contact is unacceptable??
