  1. When your next shot is the distance that you hit your 13 Wood.    Obviously an over simple answer...but it does happen to be correct

  2. on your 13th shot of the hole?

  3. I suppose when you are 80 years old or something and have to hit the green from 95 out to set up your putt for double.

In other words, toss that useless stick in the nearest lake.

  4. when you are about to get it on w/a hot girl

  5. since its a ping club its a probably the ping i3 fairway wood not a 13 wood and since its a 27 degree wood its probably a 9 wood.

  6. how far do u hit it? use it when u have to hit that far.

  7. If it is a 27o degree loft, it would certainly be used when you are around, or approaching the green at a close perimeter.  Take it in to the pro at the golf shop, and he can probably tell you where the club should be used, then go to the range. First, check the yardage markers if they have some, or if they have target flags to shoot at, find out the distance they're set at and gets some range balls and check it out.  Then you'll have an idea about what your distance would be on the course.

And, by the way...I'm 80...I don't use anything like that club...I still hit an 8 iron from 120 yds. in...to the green.  And I don't putt for doubles very often. In 2002, I shot a 74....and that was my age at that time.

  8. If a burglar comes in the house.

  9. when you absolutely have to get it through the windmill and into the clown's mouth.

hit balls on the range to see how far you most often hit it (as with all the clubs in your bag).  then when you have that distance on the course you know which club to use.

  10. My guess is that this is not a 13 wood.  With a 28 degree loft, it is probably a 7 or 9 wood (fairway wood).

Fairway woods are used primarily when you have problem using an iron to get the ball airborne, such as bad lie or short rough.  For some players that are not that good with long irons, sometimes a fairway wood would work better.

As for distance, 28 degrees would probably fly a ball 180-200 yards (depending on how good are you).  To be sure, best to take it to a driving range, hit couple balls with it, note the distance, then hit couple irons until you find one that goes about the same distance, the you'll know this wood is a good replacement club for that iron.

  11. 13 wood?????  Ive  been playing for some 20 yrs  and have yet to see one. Im thinking you have some knock-off clubs, maybe miss labeled and is actually a 3 wood. If the shaft measures  out to about 46 inches , its a 3. If youre just starting its actually a better club to use off the tee box because it has more loft which helps keep it straighter.

  12. I will answer with a positive suggestion about using the 13 wood. First, it depends how far you can hit it. I find it could help when you have to hit over a tree, but you're 7 iron doesn't have enough trajectory to get over.

  13. I'd suggest hitting it at the driving range to figure out what distance you average with it.

Then when you need to hit a shot that distance when you're on the course, you know that's the club to use.

That's the logic I use for all my clubs.  Once you know your distances, it takes out the guesswork on what to hit.
