When would a good time be to get a laptop?

Question

I want to get a laptop maybe by christmas ( I'm saving my money ).

I have been looking for one and have been all over the place I have heard bad things about the Vista and some about the Mac too.

I really would love to know from you laptop users what you have and how you like it.

I kinda liked this laptop but it has vista right?

1.) Those links you gave are not working.  

2.) Windows 7 is scheduled to come out in 2010.  

3.) Vista is buggy and you need an excellent computer just to run it decently.  Mac OS X is much more stable and the only real issue is that you can't really play to many games on it.  People who tell you that Macs are c**p, most likely don't own one and are very narrow minded.  OSX kicks vistas *** in performance and ease of use.  

4.) You could always install Windows XP on this laptop you plan on getting.  

5.) Plan on spending around $1,000 for a decent laptop.  

6.) I would suggest getting an ASUS, ACER, or HP notebook.  Maybe TOSHIBA.

7.) What ever you do do not buy a Dell, I work in a computer repair shop and well over 50% of the computers that come in are Dells. Whats more is that most of the problems with them are not even the users fault, it is usually a hardware related issue. They are poorly built and have big quality issues, plus the customer support for them sucks.
