When would it be acceptable to rebel against higher authority?

Question

I am writing a paper and this is the topic, but I need some ideas because I'm a little stuck right now.

the full question is:

"when, if ever, is it okay to rebel against a leader or government?"

I just need some ideas to get started.

One idea that springs to mind is if the government/leader starts telling you that you aren't allowed to criticize them, or that if you do you are a traitor. Once your opinion is irrelevant to your government, you lose any power you have to influence it, and if you think the government should respond to the citizens as democracy is supposed to, freedom of speech is absolutely vital no matter how unpopular your view or how much the government wants everybody to shut up and go along with them. To me it's one of the most basic freedoms and when it's gone things can get dangerous quickly (view the rampant legal persecution of and vigilante violence against those criticizing the gov't when they cracked down on free speech in the U.S. and Britain during WWI for example).

when ever you dont agree with them mind you then you will be persicuted for being a terrorist if it makes the gov worried about there controll of power isnt it wonderful living in the age of the democratic dictatorship

Bato we have been doing this for ever even now as you read and I type for the better when your Gov. is run by a dictator (Fidel Castro Cuban) or when higher authority is abusing their power such as SOME cops being racist (Not all) or when their a better way look at USA and England the fight for Independence or Mexico and Spain (what a fight you should read about it) or any South&Central American Country so many ways. They fought because Higher Authority is abusing their power (USA fought England because the lack of respect and higher taxes). Then Canada also won independence. Their is a lot more too. Also look at the World today Immigration problem's in the US this a very unfortunate people come wishing for a better life and get tracked down and treated like criminals (Don't get me wrong though) I know trust me. You see people rebel against Gov. all the time I think Russia has a few problem's right now too (Civil War). Then look at slavery in the USA (in the past(Civil War) their was a better way for life Remember "All Men are created Equal" (what a president Roosevelt was to bad people died or else the USA would be Just and fair lets face it the USA has authority problem's but the good part it people in the US do their best to fix them "With Power come great respect" life is a wonderful dreadful and unfortunate thing its all about trying to fix the problems in the past who want to be someone and make a difference thats what makes great people like me or you (hopefully lol) you see people fight for Democracy and honor with Dignity because that what is right and thats the right thing to do you see I belive this is THE most famous quote by Cesar Chavez along with other ones

It is acceptable to to mount rebellions when the wants of the people are continuously ignored and the elites do what they want.  In the United States we are given an opportunity to "rebel" at every election.  From the smallest town mayor election to the POTUS.  Unfortunately the elites have skewed the playing field in such a manner as to make the wants of the people invalid.  The Government machine cares not for the people , but only for the machine.  There are major flaws in our system.  One of which is not having term limits on members of both houses of congress.  Instead of doing what is correct they ( democrats and republicans) have turned the people of the U.S. against each other to create infighting amongst us, the people.  This therefore allows the elites to continue feeding there lust for more power by saying one thing and doing another.  Ultimately it doesn't matter who is your candidate in this or any election because an honest candidate does not exist.  The cycle goes something like this:  Capitalism will morph into socialism, which then becomes communism and then degenerates into totalitarianism.  We have reached a point in this country as well as the world where armed resurrection is absolutely needed to reset the course of freedom (not the freedom that the elites tell us we have, but real freedom without intrusion by people who think they know what we need).  Unfortunately there will be no rebellions because with out the majority of people willing to stand up to Government bullies there can be no victory.
