  1. 1. I think it would be appropriate for teachers of small children to sit on the floor with their students, to be at their eye level.

    2. I think it would be appropriate for teachers to stand at the back of the class when they are observing. May be if a student is giving some sort of presentation. Also if they are giving a lecture where the students don't need to look at them at the moment - the teacher may walk around the room, including the back. (Keeps students on their toes!)

    3. It would be appropriate for teachers to shout if there is something dangerous and they had to quickly get everyone's attention. Also if they are outside and need to be heard a long way.

  2. Some people call that continent Eurasia.

  3. When ever you feel the need to, you are the teacher.

  4. 1. I sit on the floor when I'm working with the students on the floor. I find it works better for small group work than if I was standing over them or sitting on a chair.

    2. I stand at the back of the class when the students are presenting talks, or we're doing something where the focus doesn't need to be on me (such as a student-centred lesson using the projector).

    3. I shout when I'm trying to get a child's attention outside and I don't have the loudhailer with me. I always precede it with a blast of my whistle, so the children stop what they're doing - that way I don't have to shout too loudly.

  5. 1. Anytime. What's wrong with sitting on the floor?

    2. Why do you want to stand back of the class? I'm thinking it's either you're looking for trouble-makers and culprits who attempts to cheat on tests, or something else...

    3. If you really can't control the class, shout as the last resort.

  6. Answers may vary with grade & subject....

    1) I often sit on the floor if students are doing project/ centre work there & need my assistance.

    2) If circulating the room during a large group discussion or lecturing.

    3) Shout - in the gym or someone in danger

  7. Shouting isn't a great idea at any time, because you will be disturbing other teachers in the process.  As to sitting on the floor, if the class is sitting on the floor (and you are young enough to get back up again), go for it.  Standing in back of the class makes sense if a student or students are presenting in the front of the class.  It also may be appropriate when students are working individually as part of walking around the classroom to help them.
