He is waiting for doctors to clear him from rehab for his knee. He needs to regain his range of motion. Don't sweat it, he'll be ready for the season and no need to rush. Preseason means nothing for him anyway and its best he sits out and worries about being 100 percent. Preseason is for rookie evaluation, can only do Peyton damage right now.

I heard Tony Dungy expects him to play 2-3 quarters of preseason play by the end of the preseason.   So by time the regular season comes around then he should be ready to go.
