  1. I don't know but I have Sirius and I love it

  2. No.  You can get all of XM plus 11 of Sirius's channels (ones that are preselected; you don't get to choose which 11).  Or buy a new radio and get one of the a la carte plans.

  3. They probably aren't going to merge in the future.  One reason is this will cause a monolopy within the satellite radio business.

They will just combine the most listened to channels.

  4. If I can't get Sirius, I'm gonna be mad.  I just paid about $500 extra for a new Ford Focus with a Sirius radio.  If the signal goes away, THAT will be a bit disturbing, won't it?

  5. no one is really sure whats going to happen IF the meger goes through, currently xm and sirius use different technology and are incompatable but their is a possabality that if the merger happens if your on xm that xm would receive the sirius siginal then convert it to their style then broadcast it to their listners and vice versa.

The big problem is the N.A.B. is throwing a ton of money around in washington to try and stop this merger because they know that trestial radios best days are behind it and they are trying to slow down the death blow that sat radio is going to deliver to them.
