When yOU Go To Doctor For Phycial can He Tell If You Smoke?

Im 14 and ive smoked cigarette and i trying to quit and act like it never happened and my parent hoply wont know. Can he find out that you smoke and can your lungs reheal if i quit?

  1. If the doctor is a non-smoker he'll be able to smell it on your breath.  If he smokes too, he won't notice.  


  2. You REALLY shouldn't be smoking at that age. But, if you smoke a lot and your heart rate is abnormal, that may lead to further questioning by your doctor, but I don't think he can tell from a regular physical that you smoke. However you may want to tell him, in the event that you have to take medication that a smoker shouldn't be taking.  You can probably tell him in confidence, but please stop smoking. You're wayyy too young.  

  3. If you quit smoking, you your lungs will return to normal after a certain period of time, unless you have developed emphysema (or lung cancer, or any one of the myriad of lung diseases you get from smoking).

    He will likely know that you have smoked.

    My best advice is to stop smoking now, don't smoke anymore, and deal with the consequences of smoking if you are caught.  It's not the end of the world if you're caught smoking, but you will lead a far more miserable life if you don't quit now!
