  2. If your only problem is dehydration, no.  But if you are severely dehydrated, it is likely you have also lost a lot of electrolytes through perspiration.  Your need for protein would not be urgent.

  3. Not necessarily. Actually when you are severely dehydrated you are better off with water with a small amount of salt dissolved within it. During the 1900's doctors discovered that adding salt to water stopped the huge rise in deaths which was being created by the large amount of diarrhea (which causes severe dehydration).

    The importance is to keep the body hydrated. Food will be necessary - however, can cause an adverse effect if the body is not hydrated first.
