  1. You can't move into check, not a legal move.

Doesn't matter which one you touch first, you'll move them both as a single move.

    No, you just do it.

  2. You all forgot to mention that he also cannot castle while in check.

  3. The king cannot move into check, nor move through check while castling.  The rook however can move through threatened squares.

I don't think there's a rule of etiquette regarding this.  Some players move one, then the other, some other players move both pieces simultaneously with both hands.  Calling castling is not necessary in tournament play, and no club I've ever heard of requires it either.  In fact, there are many tournament players who find calling 'check' a breach of etiquette.

**edit**  Tolya is absolutely correct.  You must move the king two spaces first in tournament play.

  4. Moving into check?  The goal is to get out of check; what would your opponents next move be I wonder?  During castling, while you can't step your King past a square attacked by your opponent, or castle out of check, you can move your rook to safety by castling.  Interesting that Korchnoi needed to verify this with the arbiter before doing it in one of his games with Karpov.

When castling you must touch your King first, move it two sqaures over, then move your rook.  If you touch your rook first you will have to make a rook move.

  5. The king cannot move into check, nor move through check while castling. The rook however can move through threatened squares.

u should touch the king first when u castle by FIDE rules

    No

  6. no you cannot at any time move your king into a check.
