When you apply to NROTC, if u don't get an NROTC scholarship, can u still do NROTC without the scholarship?

If you don't get the full scholarship, can you still do NROTC but pay for your tuition on your own?

  1. well you can for 2 years but once you get to your 3 year you have to make a commitment to the navy thus giving you a gid bill or what not acting just like a scholarship

Short answer, yes.  You can still go to school and use other sources to fund your education.  During the first two years of ROTC you do not obligate yourself to actually serve in the military, although you do have to follow their rules.  After your second year, you do a summer program that is sort of like basic and then there is the possibility of aid for your 3rd and 4th years.
