  1. yes there are no securty to go though

    at the train stations

so yes you can leave the station but dont miss the train

  2. Yes, that's fine.   Just make sure you don't miss the train!

  3. the "train stations", ie ny penn (amtrak, nj transit, lirr) and ny grand central (mta), yes you can go in and out, walk around the city, etc.  in fact, if you are waiting to transfer trains, it is great to get out a little bit to keep from getting too bored in the waiting rooms.

make sure you return at least 1/2 hr + before your scheduled departure.

now, if you use the subways at all, those "stations"  do require payment to get to the platform. if you use the subway and want to leave the station, you have to repay to get in.  repayment can be either one-way fares, day passes, weekly or monthly commuter passes, etc.

you are not saying what "station" you are using, so without more details, i would say "it depends", so clarify what station and/or trains you are using, and then use the above info to differentiate between subway train stations and the 2 railroad stations for suburban MTA or NJT or intercity Amtrak trains.

  4. If you get a day pass, then you can leave and enter as often as you like.

But the pass cannot be used in the same station over and over.  That's to prevent one ticket being used by multiple people.

    Good Luck...
