  1. It will depend on their size but smaller branches can be successfully mulched and used as a mulch around plants or other trees. Larger branches can be chain-sawn for firewood.Otherwise they can be piled up and will eventually rot and become mulch.

  2. We have a garden mulcher & after mulching they are returned to the garden as mulch or used in compost bins.

  3. my village has a branch drop off center. you can have them chipped and take the chip with you for mulch or simply drop them off.

i have several gardens that are edged with general purpose edging but laying some of the more interesting branches along the edges gives the gardens an earthy look as well as providing the birds with extra landing spots.

  4. If they aren't too big, and you have a riding mower, you might just mow them.  What will usually be left if anything is the actual limb, the rest will be mulch.  I do it all the time with hedge, evergreen and small tree limbs.  Do this at your own risk, I've never had a problem, but I can't fortell if you will.

  5. Take them to your local tip and they will shred them and use the bark for spreading on beds and compost garden rubbish.  Its what we do when we trim ours and its what our local tip does.
