When you are donating clothes to GOODWILL OR SAVERS, is that "donating to charity?"?

  1. Goodwill? Yes.  Savers? No.  Savers is a for-profit company, not a charity.


  2. Yes. However if this is for tax purposes, I'm not sure that counts as it is not a monetary donation.

    and they will give you a "receipt" to fill in what you donated and put an approx cost on it for your taxes.

  5. Anything you donate to the needy, that goes directly to the needy is charity. If someonemakes a profit from it ,it is not charity. unless the profit is used in direct support of the needy.I suggest finding a local family that can use the items you are trying ti rid yourself of and giving it directly to them. If you don't personally know a needy family drop them at a community help center or ask them to locate a needy family for you
