When you are driving and somebody is about to pass you do you get the urge to speed up so they can't?

When I am driving and someone is in the lane next to me and is coming up and about to pass me i always get the urge to speed up a bit so they don't go past me. Does anyone else ever do this?

My boyfriend does this and I hate it because I know that if someone did it to him, he'd get furious. I think it's inconsiderate but he thinks it's hilarious!

I do this when people take an awful long time to pass, if they speed up then to pass - fine, if they slow down and get behind me again - fine.  I do it to embarrass because when you pass you're not supposed to take too much time in case something HAPPENS...so if you're going to pass then HURRY UP.
