of ladies, the ones that seem so perfect, that never admit to any mistakes, that seem holier than thou, the ones where everything is perfectly matching and the hair and makeup are perfect. You know the ones I am talking about, the ones that give Christians a bad name with their harsh judgement of everyone. Anyways, my question is I seem to come across a lot of these type of women in churches and it really turns me off. So my question is what do I do when I come across ladies like this? I just want a church with down to earth people that know they are sinners just like me. I tend to leave churches for this reason, but I am really trying to find a church home. Am I just being too sensitive and making a big deal of nothing?

  1. Well no, but you have to realize that these ladies don't know they are sinners too, or they don't care.  That is a problem of most Christians, we think we are righteous and don't recall the pig pen Jesus pulled us out of when He saved us.

I think you should look for a small church that believes the Bible and keep looking.  God will lead you to a church where He wants you.  He did w/me 3 yrs ago and I looked for 5 yrs.  They're out there.  Good luck and God Bless.

  2. Ignore them.  You are at Church to be closer to God.  They aren't helping that, obviously, but you are giving them a lot of power when you leave a Church because of them.  Find a few good friends and don't worry about the rest.

  3. you dont need to go to church to be a christian.

it didnt say so in the bible did it?

just keep the sunday for god,

that doesnt necessarily mean go to church.

"praise" god the way you feel comfortable.

  4. yep- i know what you mean--i guess some churches have some like that but they are in the minority so i just ignore---as a protestant i have attended 3 or 4 churches and only noticed it in one but it was no big deal...by the way we attend church dressed anyway we want-anywhere from suit and tie to shorts with sneakers and tee shirts--ours is a great church and a fun place to be

  5. yeah, No one is perfect and holy except for Jesus and God. When we recently changed Church's i found out that you CAN NOT judge someone by their looks! At this new church we are going to all the ladies seem to have like you said Great hair and Great clothes, but let me tell you they are the sweetest and most caring people i have meet in a long time! What you should do is try to get to know them, be VERY friendly, and just dont have you mind thinking "oh they are all stuck up" Just pray that God will give you guidance for where you should go. If you are praying for Gods will everything WILL work out! Just have an open mind and remember you go to church to praise God, so find you one that lets you do that! Hope i could help!

  6. If you want to avoid people like that, don't go to church.

  7. just light a bag of dog doo and watch her stamp it out with those stelletos

    ;D

  8. I am a Roman Catholic and if you want down to earth visit our church as it is like being at the Mall. People are in shorts and shirts out of their trousers and sneakers. Looking at our lot I'm sure God is a sports fan who flocks to the weekend games downing a few brewski's!

In my mind, I am thinking of a handful of ladies that dress up including one couple each Sunday. That's it! Want informal? Try us.

  9. You should slap them with a hot pie

  10. I think you are judging.

I have a lady in my church who perfectly fits the first part of your description:  Perfectly beautiful, married for 40 years, perfect family and she teaches the ladies SS class.  Although she has never fallen into serious sin, she is the most compassionate woman I know when it comes to some of the issues younger women today face.

Her beautiful (model beautiful) daughter lost her leg in a boating accident which occurred at a church picnic by a church member's boat.

You really need to get to know people.

  11. slap em!!!! lol  soz well, you could go up to them and say 'excuse me do you have a problem with christianity and if she says yes then say i feel very uncomfortable with you commenting like this about these beliefs' or something like that. hope this helps a bit    :D    x

  12. It may turn you off, but it turns others on.

  13. Does the church teach solid Biblical truth?

Do they preach salvation the way the Master did?

If they are, then you should pray for them.  Ask God to give you love and patience with them.

  14. Kill them

  15. First let's clear something up......Once you become saved you're no longer considered a "sinner". Yes, you still sin but when you do you can repent and you will be forgiven. Others who have not been saved are considered sinners and will not be forgiven because of that. So as a christian, stop calling yourself a sinner.

Now to your question....yes its discerning to see people like this in the church but you have to remember why you're there. You're there to get the word and fellowship with other christians. If it bothers you to the point that you can no longer do those things then you need to find another church. When you come across these type of people you remind yourself that they are human and pray for them. That's it, nothing more nothing less.
