  1. never bet more than you can afford to lose.

  2. i have nearly a hundred rules for myself when betting,

    a couple are......

    1) never second guess yourself ( meaning go with what you think not a so-called expert)

    2) if your impressed by a horse and back it next start where it loses, don't be discouraged back it again it will win at odds!

    3) do your home-work (form) dont bet for the sake of betting, bet coz you think you have a winner

4)bet with your head, not over it! (meaning only bet what you can afford)

EDIT....... krystal, its aqua da'more, and she's in foal

  3. always look for value it could be at 2/1 or at 100/1

  4. BET WHAT I CAN AFFORD TO LOSE

  5. Yes.. I never bet each way under 5/1 and if I am actually at the races, I never back a horse who is grinding his teeth, showing coltish behaviour, sweating up, and who has an upset tummy (a dirty bottom).

The latter has worked wonders in the past for paddock inspection and you would be amazed how many hot favourites have lost showing this characteristic. Now that's the downside of picking horses from your morning paper you don't get to see any of this, so come to the races. xx

  6. well if the horse is acting up or sweating bad..i tend to steer clear of those horse.. however..one aussie horse Aqua demore..she liked to sit down in the barriers almost everytime..she just dont like the barriers...but i still bet on her and she always won..i dont think she races anymore. i dont like to give myself to many rules because things dont always go to plan and rules are made to be broken ..

  7. Ya.. But they usually change just before I make my bet at the window..

  8. Never make a bet more than it will pay...

i.e.. the chalk comes in all races the p3 will not pay.. don't place it.

Dont place a bet where you have to kick a bunch of horses out to afford it.. i.e... p4, p6 bets kicking out long shot horses that may have a chance because it makes the bet to expensive.

I don't bet trifecta's if the chalk going to win and the next 2 fave's will be coming in underneath in a short field( 5 horses )
